Go West Young Pup!

Good morning! We pulled out of Scottsdale at about 530am, heading for Cali.
This will be a milestone, since Dad has so much history here, and always brags up the West Coast, so now I get to see what all the hubub is about. Here we gooooooo!

It's WAAAY too early!

We got waved through the border YAY! ...guess we dont look too threatening.

GREAT! I thought we left all those critters back in AZ! Careful where ya SQUAT!

Resting up for the big plunge! This better be good.

I thought those guys were extinct!

Dad found me an awesome dogpark in Riverside! Those guys behind me are ka-razy!

The Pacific Ocean Beckons!

Whaaat? We're going on ANOTHER ROAD TRIP??

That's right, Dad and I are packing up the Grand Cherokee for another grand adventure! Now that the weather is warming up, and we are somewhat settled in our new home in Scottsdale, it's time to venture out to the West Coast to visit some friends and family. Stay tuned for some fun pics and colorful commentary from yours truly! —NACHO MUCHACHO

DAY 4: Las Cruces, NM to Scottsdale, AZ

Last night we checked in to a cabin perched upon a mesa overlooking the Organ mountains just in time for a really nice sunset.

How's this for an idea for Stephen King's next novel?? "Son of Cujo" perhaps?

Thank God Dad let me sleep in a little for once...My blankets are sooo cozy.

We drove through some heavy fog that made Dad say some bad words, but we got through New Mexico and crossed the AZ border finally around 9am! Yay! We are Arizonans...Arizonians? Arizonanians??? Whatever we are officially, it's nice to finally be here.

The mountains here are really cool...they are all made of boulders. It's a far cry from Flat Florida!

Looks like we are not the only ones who made the trip from Florida. That's a Catalina sailboat from Sarasota! I think these sailors are on their way to Lake Pleasant! Bon Voyage!

A nice sunset for our first night in Arizona. We are safe and sound and ready for some new adventures...Thanks for riding along! This is Nacho Muchacho signing off!

DAY 3: Austin to Las Cruces, NM

Headed out at 7am in fog and rain from Austin. Drove through Dripping Springs and Fredericksburg...Texas Hill Country / Wine Country / Rum Country / Vodka, Whiskey...seems like theres a distillery or winery on just about every corner...if theres not a bbq joint! Those smokers smell goooood! Eventually, we wound up back on Hwy 10, heading west!

"Hey Dad, are we there yet?"

We stopped for a pee in Fort Stockton and Dad had to pull a thorn out of my toe! I guess it's true what they say...Everything in West Texas either Sticks, Stings or Stinks! Judging from the dust storm we drove through by Fort Hancock, West Texas blows too. (Did I say that out loud?)

So this is pretty much what we stared at all day...

BBBOOORRRIIINNNGGG...

Aaaahhh...this is more like it...I'm beginning to like these REST AREAS.

FINALLY! Las Cruces, here we come...just in time for dinner!

DAY 2: Baton Rouge to Austin

So, we left Louisiana this morning at 5:00 am. I'm soooo tired! Whyyyyy do we have to leave when it's still dark outside?

Ok, now I'm seeing stars everywhere I look...I'm either in Texas, or someone thumped my melon!

EEE-HAH! Bar-B-Que at Slow-Poke's...we are DEFINITELY in Tejas now...PUT ME DOWN DAD, or you'll get a hernia!

Now I get to play with my ol' buddy, Lone Star. We remember each other from last time!

Austin sure hasn't changed much...let me guess, we're getting another early start tomorrow for New Mexico "to beat the traffic."

DAY 1 - Bradenton to Baton Rouge

We left our home in Lakewood Ranch this morning at 0530. As we traveled north up I-75 we had barely made it past Tampa when "BOOM" Blowout! It took an hour for roadside assistance to show up, but we were back on the road in no time.

We had our lunch on the road thanks to Uncle Gus' Smoked ribs and Chicken Jerky! Yummers!

I think I had a little too much to drink tho, cuz I had to pull over and pee. Ahem! Some PRIVACY PLEASE??

Crossing the Florida panhandle took FOR-EV-ER! So this familiar sign made my tail wag a little. -Just a little.
Looked for Forrest Gump's shrimp boat, but no such luck.
YAAAAY! We finally made it from A-L to L-A! Now if Dad can locate the hotel in Baton Rouge sometime before midnight we can get a good night's sleep...we've been up since 0-dark-thirty, and I'm yawnin'. Hey Dad...ever hear of a GPS??? SHEESH!

HERE WE GO AGAIN!

Once again, Dad and I are hitting the road. It's a one-way ticket to Arizona this time. A new life and new adventures await in the desert, but we gotta get there first! Pulling out Friday morning at the crack of dawn bound for our first stop: Baton Rouge, LA—Population: 225, 374...Saaaaaalute!
I said goodbye to all my dogpark friends, and got to splish-splash in the k9 Guzzler fountain one last time...awesummmmm!

Soooo, last time we made a beeline for TX in one day...this time, we are taking our own sweet time. Mostly because Dad is hauling a big trailer behind the Grand Cherokee. "On the road again...Sing it Willie!"

Thank you to all of our friends and family who are keeping us in your thoughts and praying for our safe journey. We will keep ya posted along the way. Who knows what we will see, or who we will meet along the way. STAY TUNED!
